In the world of F1, or any other racing series for that matter, pit crews are quite nearly as important as the drivers and the cars. Without a well trained and cohesive team, pit stops would not nearly be as fluid or fast as they are today. Every man on the crew is different, but once they don their flame-proof safety suits and protective gear, they are no longer individuals, becoming cogs in a well oiled tyre-changing machine.
In their partnership with Hackett, Williams Martini Racing has produced a short video with their pit crew donning a different kind of suit- the kind of high end suit one might expect to wear to a formal event. The juxtaposition of the grittiness of racing with the sophistication of a well made suit results in an amusing video, while also being pretty damn cool. Check it out below:
