Wearnes Automotive, authorized dealer for Volkswagen vehicles, recently did its bit for the Shelter Home For Children when it held a charity car wash at its premises in Sungai Besi. Jointly organized with members of the VW Club Malaysia, the charity car wash managed to raise RM9,000 for the upkeep of the home. While owners had their cars washed, children from the home were brought in using a fleet of Volkswagen vehicles for a day’s outing at the dealership. There, they were entertained with numerous activities including face painting, clown performances and games while a sumptuous buffet spread filled their tummies over lunch. According to Kevin Teng, dealer principal of Wearnes Automotive, the event was a means for them to create a unique and delightful experience for the children while providing a platform for Volkswagen owners and Wearnes Automotive to do their bit for a noble organization.
“We wanted to create a platform where owners and members of our organization could meaningfully participate in and to show our care for the less fortunate in our society. The concept of the Volkswagen Charity Car Wash was an excellent opportunity for us to take an active role in touching the lives of these young children,” said Kevin Teng. At the conclusion of the event, a cheque for the amount of RM9,000 was presented by Adrian Khaw (Wearnes Automotive) to Mr. Cheok who received the contribution on behalf of the Shelter Home For Children.
