Perodua Suppliers and Dealers Thrive Amid Record-Breaking Performance

Both the Perodua Suppliers Association and Perodua Dealers Association are growing strong.

Malaysian automotive suppliers and dealers are experiencing unprecedented growth following Perodua’s historic achievements in 2024, with both the Perodua Suppliers Association (P2SA) and Perodua Dealers’ Association (PDA) reporting significant business expansion.

The automotive manufacturer’s record-breaking production of 368,100 units in 2024 has catalyzed substantial growth across its supply chain. According to P2SA President Musa Zahidin Tan Sri Ahmad Zaidee, Perodua’s component purchases from member suppliers have reached tens of billions of Ringgit Malaysia, marking the highest procurement volume in the association’s history.

This surge in demand has enabled suppliers to reinvest in their operations, particularly in automation and digital transformation initiatives. A notable example is Ingress AOI Technologies Sdn Bhd’s implementation of an Automated Storage and Retrieval System, which has improved space efficiency by 71%. The computer-controlled system optimizes inventory management through automated identification, sorting, and movement of items in high-storage spaces with minimal human intervention.

P2SA members are increasingly adopting Industry 4.0 technologies to enhance their competitive edge in the ASEAN region. Some suppliers have successfully expanded their reach beyond Malaysia, securing contracts with Japanese automotive OEMs. This technological advancement and market expansion have been facilitated by Perodua’s supportive business practices, including prompt payments, clear directives, and open communication channels.

On the distribution front, PDA members have successfully managed the registration of 358,102 Perodua vehicles, a feat that PDA President Rabitah Dato’ Shamshudin describes as both challenging and rewarding. The association credits Perodua’s President and Chief Executive Officer, Dato’ Sri Zainal Abidin Ahmad, for his leadership in achieving these milestone numbers.

Perodua’s commitment to dealer development is evident in its support for mono-operation implementation, which integrates sales, service, and spare parts operations to enhance customer experience. The company has also been proactive in facilitating generational transition within dealerships, ensuring smooth succession as newer generations take over family-owned businesses.

Looking ahead, both associations are optimistic about their continued partnership with Perodua. P2SA members are focused on strengthening their regional competitiveness through technological advancement, while PDA is committed to elevating customer satisfaction through enhanced service delivery and experience building.

This remarkable growth in Malaysia’s automotive ecosystem demonstrates the ripple effect of Perodua’s success on its business partners, contributing to the broader development of the country’s automotive industry. With continued investment in technology and service improvements, both suppliers and dealers are well-positioned to support Perodua’s position as Malaysia’s leading automotive brand.
