Will the Tesla Model Y still be able to stack up against the competition here?
The Tesla Model Y, renowned as the world’s best-selling vehicle and praised for its top safety ratings across four continents, is now available in its refreshed form. Introducing the New Model Y, Tesla unveils an exciting upgrade that includes a striking new design and exclusive features.
To commemorate this milestone, Tesla also introduces the limited-edition Launch Edition of the New Model Y and a brand-new exterior color option: Glacier Blue. The New Model Y showcases a distinctive cyber-inspired design, taking cues from Tesla’s iconic Cybertruck and Cybercab.
Moreover, the front now features a bold cross car lightbar, while the rear boasts an all-new light bar and tailgate design, symbolizing the future of automotive aesthetics. These design elements elevate the Model Y’s futuristic appeal, making it an even more desirable choice for those seeking cutting-edge innovation.
The exclusive Launch Edition of the New Model Y comes with unique styling details, including a customized launch badge at the rear, puddle light badges, and a door sill plate featuring the “Launch” wordmark. These touches create a premium, personalized experience for every driver and passenger.
Inside, the Launch Edition is also equipped with silver-accented charging consoles and floor mats, alongside an all-black vegan suede interior trim for a luxurious, eco-friendly cabin. In addition to the exclusive styling elements, the New Model Y brings a quieter cabin experience thanks to double-layer glass on all windows and a panoramic glass roof with silver-coated glass.
On top of that, this advanced glass technology reduces UV rays and heat entering the cabin, ensuring a more comfortable ride. Tesla has also redesigned the wheels and introduced a rear diffuser, improving aerodynamics and reducing air resistance. These enhancements optimize the car’s lift balance, improving stability and efficiency at high speeds.
The New Model Y also includes popular features from the Tesla Model 3, such as ambient lighting, ventilated front seats, and a second-row display for rear passengers. The rear passenger seats are now easier to adjust or fold down with a simple press of a button. The New Model Y is available in two variants: Rear-Wheel Drive and Long Range.
The Rear-Wheel Drive offers a range of 466 km (WLTP) and accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 5.9 seconds, priced at RM195,450. The Long Range variant delivers an impressive range of 551 km (WLTP) and accelerates from 0-100 km/h in just 4.3 seconds, with a starting price of RM242,450.
