This Volkswagen and Fujifilm partnership will also see great prizes to be won
Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) and Fujifilm Malaysia are inviting photographers from across the country to share their visual stories through the exciting Volkswagen Shutter Stories competition. This contest, which celebrates the shared visionary spirit of both brands, is open to all Malaysians and residents aged 18 and above.
Running until 5 January 2025, the competition calls on photographers to submit one image for each of five key themes representing the essence of Volkswagen: VW Love, VW Adventure, VW Motion, VW People and VW Colours & Life. Importantly, two of the five submitted entries must feature a Volkswagen vehicle.
Moreover, the grand prize winner will receive an incredible opportunity, a one-year contract as a photographer for Volkswagen Malaysia. In addition, they will be awarded a Fujifilm camera and lens set worth up to RM7,000, along with a RM3,000 Fujifilm voucher if they are an existing Fujifilm user.
The winner will also enjoy a mentorship program with renowned automotive photographer Aaron Lee. Meanwhile, two runners-up will be awarded the latest Fujifilm instax Mini 99 with film (valued at RM1,200), Fujifilm instax Pal (worth RM588), exclusive Volkswagen merchandise, and extended test drives.
A “People’s Choice Award” will also be up for grabs, where the public will vote on social media for their favorite submission. The winner of this award will receive a selection of exclusive Volkswagen merchandise. Finalists will be chosen by a panel of judges from VPCM, Fujifilm, and Aaron Lee, with the winners being announced at a special event in 2025.
On top of that, Denyu Bostandzhiev, Managing Director of VPCM, expressed excitement about the competition, stating, “Volkswagen is not just a beloved brand for our customers, but also an icon that evokes fun, emotion, and adventure. This competition captures the essence of these values, allowing photographers to express the connection people have with the brand through their lenses.”
As a photography enthusiast, Bostandzhiev is also one of the judges for this inaugural collaboration between Volkswagen and Fujifilm Malaysia. Kensuke Aragane, Managing Director of Fujifilm Malaysia, emphasized the power of photography to tell compelling stories.
He noted, “This collaboration blends creativity, innovation, and automotive excellence. We look forward to seeing how participants interpret the spirit of Volkswagen and capture it through their photography. The opportunity to win top-tier Fujifilm cameras, industry mentorship, and work with Volkswagen is an inspiring journey for all photographers to take part in.”
