Southeast Asian Porsche Enthusiasts Break Record Turnout At Das Treffen 9

Not only did Porsche enthusiasts break a new record, they embed the year strong too

On 15 December 2024, the IMPACT Speedpark karting circuit in Muang Thong Thani, Bangkok, hosted the ninth edition of Das Treffen, Southeast Asia’s largest Porsche gathering. Attracting 3,050 Porsche enthusiasts and 627 vehicles from across the region, the event showcased the theme “Limited Edition,” spotlighting rare Porsche models.

Among the highlights was the Taycan Turbo S Celestial Jade, a one-off creation by Porsche’s Sonderwunsch department, featuring a stunning dual-tone paint finish and intricate craftsmanship. Originally conceived by Sihabutr Xoomsai (“Tenn”) as a small gathering of Porsche fans, Das Treffen has grown into a vibrant festival.

Moreover, this year’s event included a dazzling display of rare cars, from the iconic Carrera GT to the 997-generation 911 GT3 RS 4.0, showcasing Porsche’s finest and most limited-production models.

Ms. Pawarapa Dupassakoon, Director of Marketing & PR at Porsche Thailand, expressed pride in the region’s growing Porsche community, pointing to the event as a celebration of friendship and Porsche passion. The event also marked key milestones for Porsche in the region, including the launch of the regionally-assembled Cayenne S E-Hybrid Coupé and the opening of new Porsche Centres, such as the Porsche Centre Bangna.

On top of the car displays, Porsche Asia Pacific and Porsche Thailand also elevated the experience with the Porsche Village, a two-story pavilion offering panoramic views of the cars, racing simulators, and exclusive Porsche merchandise. Notably, Porsche also displayed rare models like the 918 Spyder and the 911 S/T, reinforcing the “Limited Edition” theme.

A major draw was the Taycan Turbo S Celestial Jade, a unique electric car created to celebrate Southeast Asia’s heritage and forward-thinking spirit. With its hand-painted Chromaflair finish and mythological design elements, this one-off car captivated attendees, underscoring Porsche’s commitment to bespoke artistry and innovation.

Das Treffen 9 concluded a landmark year for Porsche in Thailand, following the introduction of new models and significant expansions. The event solidified Porsche’s strong presence in Southeast Asia, highlighting the brand’s commitment to both its cars and its passionate community.
