992 Porsche 911 GT3 RS Gets Manthey Kit For Maximum Track Performance And Tech

See why the 992 generation Porsche 911 GT3 RS is the ultimate race track tech beast

Porsche has introduced a Manthey Kit for the current 911 GT3 RS (992), designed to elevate its performance on the track. Developed in close collaboration between Porsche’s Development Centre in Weissach and Manthey Racing in Meuspath, the kit significantly enhances the car’s handling, cornering capabilities, and overall track performance.

The Manthey Kit focuses heavily on aerodynamics, offering an immediate visual transformation. The front end features a larger spoiler lip with a new wing profile, reinforced with carbon fibre elements. This is complemented by redesigned wheel arch Gurney flaps and dive planes on each side of the front bumper, which together boost downforce on the front axle.

Moreover, at the rear, the window is replaced by a 25 percent lighter carbon fibre panel, which also supports a carbon fibre shark fin. Derived from Porsche’s World Sportscar Championship-winning 963, the shark fin improves cornering stability.

Additionally, six roof-mounted fins help divert warm air from the front radiator, ensuring the rear air intake remains cooler under high-performance conditions. The rear is further optimised with a split carbon fibre DRS wing element, larger end plates, and a widened diffuser, which increases rear downforce without adding drag.

The carbon fibre ‘aero discs’ on the wheels also reduce air resistance, enhancing overall aerodynamic efficiency. At 285km/h, the 911 GT3 RS with the Manthey Kit generates over 1,000kg of downforce, improving performance in fast and medium-speed corners and enhancing vehicle stability.

On top of that, the suspension system has also been upgraded to accommodate the increased downforce. The semi-active coilover suspension now features higher spring rates, 30 percent greater on the front axle and 15 percent on the rear, ensuring better handling under high load conditions.

Braking performance is another key focus of the Manthey Kit. The kit includes steel-sheathed brake lines for quicker response and an option for racing brake pads designed for the Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake (PCCB) system. These pads are optimised for track use, offering consistent performance across a wide temperature range, reducing fading, and improving braking precision.

To enhance the car’s visual appeal, Porsche offers a range of accessories including carbon fibre door sill guards, LED door projectors, and various decals. Customers can also personalise their 911 GT3 RS with Manthey lettering and choose from different colours for additional parts like the towing eye, which is useful on the racetrack but must be removed for public road use.
