This WEY Gaoshan is the standard version and it will be launched very soon
This is the Great Wall Motor (GWM), luxury vehicle division product and it is called ‘WEY’ and it is a luxury MPV. We spotted this unit and looks like a Malaysian launch is very soon.
Incidentally, the name ‘WEY’ is the surname of the bid boss of Great Wall Motors in China and he has specified this luxury MPV to be simply the best people transporter on sale right now.
This latest product from GWM has a wheelbase of 3085 mm and a length of 5045 mm which makes it larger than the current segment best seller, the Toyota Alphard.
The large and luxurious cabin is fitted with a Harmon Kardon sound system (BMW standard sounds system) electric seats with climate control vents built in and a whole list of luxury appointments and high safety equipment.
It is powered by the Hi4 PHEV system that comprises a 1.5-liter petrol fed turbocharged engine that is good for 156 hp. It works in pair with two electric motors to deliver easy driving on the open highway. (this is not the same powertrain found in the Haval H6 HEV)
The total engine power is 115 kW and when combined with the 135 kW rear axle electric motor, power can reach 358 kW and a maximum torque of 762Nm. This allows for a 0-100km/h acceleration time of 5.7 seconds.
The 37.96 kWh ternary lithium battery pack provides a CLTC pure electric cruising range of a possible 140 km.
PRESS RELEASE: The second row utilizes a shared rail design for the second and third rows, with an extra-long slide rail of 1845mm, providing a generous legroom of up to 1166mm for the second row. The third row also incorporates a split butterfly seat design, allowing for 4/6 split Tip-Up seat folding, offering flexible seating configurations and easier luggage arrangement. The accordion-style trunk boasts a maximum volume of up to 1725L.
The GWM Wey GaoShan PHEV features a 12.5L large in-car fridge with an independent compressor, capable of adjusting temperatures from 0-50℃. It adopts a dual-layer, front and rear dual-opening design, catering to both the driver and rear passengers. It can also hold 14 standard-sized cans in one go. Even after the vehicle is turned off, this fridge can maintain its temperature for up to 24 hours.
The car is equipped with a premium Harman/kardon 20-speaker sound system, delivering a virtual 7.1.2 channel audio experience. With a total power output of 1600w, it promises a mesmerizing 3D surround sound.
The executive extended edition (which is a longer version) also features a voice recognition system specifically developed for business travel. It is equipped with six microphones, supporting six sound zones, with each seat having its dedicated “Little Wei Assistant.”
It also includes an intercom mode and call buttons for all three rows. The rear roof is embellished with 830 star points and 680 stars, with 5 dynamic shooting stars, creating a luxurious and comfortable ambiance. This MPV also comes with a dedicated fragrance system, offering three themed fragrances to choose from.
