Could Fiat return to Malaysia as an EV brand with the 600e Abarth?
Fiat is celebrating its anniversary with the launch of the new 600e Abarth, marking the brand’s most powerful model ever. Equipped with a 280hp electric motor, the 600e Abarth accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.85 seconds, setting new performance benchmarks for electric hot hatches.
This model is the result of collaboration between Abarth and Stellantis Motorsport, combining cutting-edge technology and motorsport expertise to create an electrified powerhouse on the road. The 600e Abarth is available in two versions: the 600e Abarth Turismo and the limited-edition Scorpionissima, which pays homage to Abarth’s founding year with only 1,949 units produced.
Moreover, both versions are built on the Perfo eCMP platform, offering a thrilling driving experience with three selectable driving modes, namely Turismo, Scorpion Street and Scorpion Track, each providing a different balance of power, torque, and handling to suit various driving conditions.
The Scorpionissima is the faster of the two, boasting 280hp and 345Nm of torque, with a top speed of 200 km/h and a 0-100 km/h time of 5.85 seconds. The Turismo version offers 240hp and 300Nm of torque, reaching 100 km/h in approximately 6.24 seconds. Both models produce 345Nm torque and a WLTP battery range of up to 334km.
On top of that, Abarth has collaborated with Michelin, Alcon, JTEKT Torsen, and Sabelt to enhance performance. The car’s Michelin Pilot Sport EV tires provide excellent grip, while Alcon brakes and JTEKT’s limited-slip differential ensure superior handling and stability. The Torsen differential optimises traction, especially in tight corners, while the racing-inspired Sabelt seats offer exceptional lateral support.
The exterior design also reflects Abarth’s aggressive, performance-focused ethos. With its squared-off front bumper, bold rear spoiler, and distinctive 20-inch wheels, the 600e Abarth stands out on the road. The Scorpionissima edition adds exclusive touches like a glossy black body kit and Hypnotic Purple paint, alongside a black interior with Sabelt racing seats.
On the inside, the 600e Abarth boasts high-tech features, including a 10.25-inch infotainment system with real-time performance monitoring, a sound generator for added sportiness, and connected services like ChatGPT AI integration for seamless communication and vehicle control.
The 600e Abarth combines bold design, cutting-edge tech, and exhilarating performance, offering a thrilling driving experience for electric vehicle enthusiasts. Orders for both versions begin soon across Europe. Could this be the car Stellantis chooses to revive the Fiat brand in Malaysia with?
