Here are two separate Tesla Cybertruck accidents with four injuries and no fatalities reported
It is interesting that in a span of 48 hours, two Tesla Cybertruck electric vehicles were in serious accidents (as you can see from the pictures below) and only injuries were reported.
Meanwhile, did you know that in June this year it was reported that Tesla’s Cybertruck had faced significant setbacks, prompting two recalls impacting more than 11,000 units each. The first recall addresses a critical issue with the windshield wiper system, which poses safety risks, especially in rainy conditions. Models produced between 13 November 2023, and 6 June 2024, are affected.
Incidentally, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) highlights that the wiper motor controller may malfunction due to electrical over-stress, potentially impairing visibility and heightening the risk of collisions. Tesla has committed to replacing the defective components at no cost to ensure the safety of Cybertruck owners.
Problems with adhesive application have led to instances where the trim may detach, posing potential hazards to other vehicles on the road. Tesla plans to either replace or rework the applique to adhere to proper installation specifications and prevent future detachment issues.
On top of that, these recalls compound earlier safety concerns related to the Cybertruck, including a previous recall in April involving approximately 3,900 units due to a faulty accelerator pedal design. These challenges underscore ongoing difficulties in Tesla’s manufacturing quality control processes specific to the Cybertruck.
Now, we have read how critics argue that perhaps more robust investment in quality assurance measures could have mitigated these recurring issues from the outset.
Meanwhile, Tesla said that they had notified affected Cybertruck owners by 18 August, facilitating prompt action to address these safety concerns. Detailed reports from the NHTSA regarding both recalls are available online for transparency and reference.
Despite Tesla’s proactive approach in offering free repairs to rectify these issues, the repetition of recalls raises questions about the vehicle’s overall reliability and the efficacy of Tesla’s initial quality control measures. Honestly, I don’t understand why Tesla keeps releasing bad products over and over again.
