Stellantis Strengthens Regional Presence with New Parts Hub in Malaysia, Advancing ASEAN Automotive Strategy

This strategic investment by Stellantis enhances Malaysia’s position as key automotive hub.

Stellantis today announced plans to establish a Regional Parts Hub in Malaysia, marking a significant expansion of its presence in the India & Asia Pacific region. The facility, scheduled to begin operations in Q1 2025, will serve approximately 20 countries and house components for all the conglomerate’s brands, including Peugeot, Citroën, Alfa Romeo, Jeep, RAM, and Leapmotor.

Located in a Malaysian Free Trade Zone, the new hub represents a strategic investment in the company’s regional supply chain infrastructure and demonstrates the company’s commitment to strengthening its footprint in ASEAN markets. The facility will significantly enhance parts availability and reduce lead times for dealers and customers across the region.

Daniel Gonzalez, Chief Operating Officer of Stellantis ASEAN, emphasized the strategic importance of the new facility: “India and Asia Pacific region serves as Stellantis’ third growth engine. This Regional Parts Hub will be a cornerstone of our regional supply chain strategy, reinforcing our commitment to Malaysia’s development as a regional automotive hub.”

The establishment of the Regional Parts Hub builds upon the company’s “Built in ASEAN for ASEAN” roadmap, which began in 2021 with the full acquisition of their Gurun plant in Kedah. This manufacturing facility serves as a regional production center for both domestic and ASEAN export markets.

“This strategic investment reflects our customer-centric approach to service delivery,” said Olivier Torchet, Head of Parts & Services, Stellantis India & Asia Pacific. “By positioning our regional warehouse in Malaysia’s Free Trade Zone, we’re optimizing our ability to meet growing customer demands while ensuring superior aftersales support throughout the region.”

Key Benefits of the Regional Parts Hub:

  • Enhanced parts availability and reduced downtime
  • Improved service efficiency and delivery times
  • Centralized storage for all Stellantis brand components
  • Strategic location serving 20 regional markets
  • Strengthened regional supply chain infrastructure

The announcement follows the March 2024 establishment of Stellantis Malaysia, which oversees marketing, sales, distribution, and after-sales operations for all the company’s brands in the country. This latest investment further demonstrates the company’s long-term commitment to the region and its dedication to elevating customer service standards.
