Many Malaysian GRAB drivers think that Anthony Tan needs more hours behind the wheel
Grab CEO and co-founder Anthony Tan went undercover as an e-hailing driver for a day to get direct feedback from passengers.
Malaysian born, Anthony Tan took on the role of an e-hailing driver in Singapore (where he and his family reside right now) to test the driver app and gather direct passenger feedback, later sharing his experience via a vlog posted on LinkedIn.
Anthony observed that while GrabMaps provides clear and easy navigation for drivers, it could be improved in low-signal areas like tunnels.
During his first ride, a passenger highlighted the issue of drivers cancelling faraway pick-ups. Anthony stated that Grab’s new fare structure, compensating drivers upon accepting a booking rather than only when they’ve picked up the passenger, has improved driver acceptance rates for further pick-ups.
Meanwhile, a passenger praised GrabCar Premium for its speed and reliability, particularly when in a rush.
So, here is some advice on what GRAB drivers need to know and do WHEN SITTING FOR MORE THAN 10 HOURS in the average car.
WHEN drivers sit for too long they will have various negative effects on their health starting with their lower back and bowel movements. Let us explain.
1. Posture problems: Sitting for prolonged periods of time without paying attention to posture can cause back, neck, and shoulder pain due to pressure on the spine and muscles.
2. Cardiovascular disease risk: Lack of physical activity from prolonged sitting can increase the risk of cardiovascular disease, due to slow blood flow and disrupted metabolism.
3. Obesity / Metabolic disorders: Sitting for too long reduces calorie burning, which leads to weight gain. This also risks interfering with body metabolism, including blood sugar and cholesterol levels.
4. Blood clotting (DVT): Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) or blood clotting in leg veins can occur if sitting for too long without moving, especially in confined and confined positions.
5. Bone and joint issues: Sitting for a long time can cause stiffness of muscles and joints, especially in the hips and lower back. This will also affect bone flexibility and strength.
6. Declining mental health: Less physical activity with prolonged sitting will be linked to mental health, increasing the risk of stress, anxiety, and emotional distress. To reduce the risk, it is recommended to stand and move every 60 minutes doing movements and observe your body posture while sitting.
