Proton And Geely Showcase Engineering Excellence With The Geely E5
Proton tested out the new Geely Galaxy E5 on its superb test track
Proton, in collaboration with its esteemed partner Geely, recently hosted an exciting Driving Impression event for the Geely E5 at the Proton Test Track. This event allowed electric vehicle (EV) enthusiasts to experience the left-handed version of the Geely E5, a development sibling of the Proton e.MAS 7, offering a firsthand look at its advanced intelligent technology.
The event came on the heels of the Geely E5’s impressive 3,700km journey from China to Malaysia, where it faced challenging weather conditions along the way. This journey not only demonstrated the E5’s engineering capabilities but also showcased the rugged build quality and durability that are hallmarks of its Proton counterpart, the e.MAS 7.
Moreover, those in attendance had the opportunity to put the vehicle to the test, driving at speeds between 60 to 100 km/h, experiencing the comfort and agility of the E5 while evaluating both its interior and exterior designs. Zhang Qiang, Chief Executive Officer of PRO-NET, emphasised the importance of strategic partnerships and knowledge sharing in fostering innovation.
“Our collaboration with Geely has led to the successful development of the Proton e.MAS 7. We are proud to integrate world-class technologies that have been tested in real-world conditions, ensuring they meet the needs of Malaysians.” he remarked.
On top of that, selected media representatives were also invited to the Proton Test Track for an exclusive opportunity to drive the Geely E5 during the event. After a comprehensive briefing, the media experienced the E5’s driving dynamics firsthand. This included assessing its cornering stability and the overall comfort and convenience offered by its intelligent technology.
The attendees also had their first look at the brand’s Global Intelligent New Energy Architecture (GEA) platform and its powertrain management system, features that contribute to the E5’s performance. This driving impression served as a valuable opportunity for the media to gain insight into the innovative technology that will also be integrated into the Proton e.MAS 7.
The event successfully highlighted the shared vision of Proton and Geely in pushing the boundaries of EV technology, ensuring that both brands continue to innovate and meet the evolving needs of the market.
