This approach has driven a remarkable 62.59 percent year-on-year increase in global sales, with an impressive 201,500 units sold overseas in the first half of 2024.
In Malaysia, GWM has continued to assert its presence by launching a variety of new vehicle models throughout 2024. One of the most anticipated releases is the GWM Haval H6, known as the ‘Best-Selling SUV in China,’ scheduled for launch in the third quarter of 2024.
Moreover, this model will also mark GWM’s first CKD (Completely Knocked Down) vehicle in Malaysia. The CKD project is a collaborative effort with EPMB, a Malaysian automotive investment holding company. The establishment of the CKD plant in Malaysia will be instrumental in GWM’s strategy to solidify its market presence in the ASEAN region.
This initiative aims to provide high-quality vehicles at more affordable prices while creating additional job opportunities for Malaysians. It will also enhance GWM’s production capacity abroad, better catering to the needs of international markets. Aligned with its global commitment to sustainable mobility, GWM is expanding its product lineup in Malaysia to include more eco-friendly vehicles.
On top of that, this expansion began with the introduction of the electric hatchback GWM ORA GOOD CAT at the end of 2022. The year 2024 has been pivotal for GWM, as it has introduced new models such as the GWM ORA 07 in April and the GWM TANK 300 in July. These new additions have been well-received by Malaysian consumers, with the GWM TANK 300, a prominent off-road SUV, already surpassing 300 bookings shortly after its launch.
