Arguably one of the most sophisticated Ducati engines ever gets a homage model now
The Panigale V2 Superquadro Final Edition celebrates Ducati’s illustrious history with the Superquadro engine, marking the culmination of over three decades of engineering excellence. This limited edition collector’s bike pays homage to the iconic lineage of Ducati’s 90° V2 engines, renowned for their desmodromic valve distribution and pivotal role in models like the 748, 749, 848, 899, and 959, leading up to the current Panigale V2.
Limited to just 555 units, this Final Edition represents a milestone in Ducati’s Superquadro engine series, particularly the 955 cc variant famed for its 155hp and 104Nm of torque power. Engineered for both road enjoyment and track prowess, this iteration retains the Superquadro’s hallmark technical refinements, such as Vacural casting for lightweight crankcases and magnesium components for enhanced rigidity and compactness.
Moreover, the Superquadro’s evolution includes advanced features like DLC-coated rocker arms for reduced friction, a mixed chain/gear cam drive system for improved reliability, and a 6-axis inertial platform supporting a comprehensive electronic suite.
This includes ABS Cornering EVO, Ducati Traction Control (DTC) EVO 2, Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC) EVO, Ducati Quick Shift (DQS) up/down EVO 2, and Engine Brake Control (EBC) EVO, ensuring unparalleled stability and performance under extreme conditions.
Visually, the Superquadro Tribute livery by Drudi Performance and Ducati’s Centro Stile also combines iconic Ducati colours, white, red, black, and grey, to highlight the engine’s technical blueprint on the fairing, underscored by a matte grey tank for a modern aesthetic.
On top of that, the bike features Öhlins suspension, a monocoque chassis, Rizoma adjustable footrests, and carbon fibre components throughout, emphasising its high-performance pedigree. For enthusiasts looking to elevate their experience further, the Final Edition offers optional kits for track use, including licence plate and mirror removal, complemented by a billet aluminium racing tank cap and GPS module for data acquisition.
Each Panigale V2 Superquadro Final Edition is distinguished by a machined solid aluminium triple clamp displaying its unique production number, accompanied by a certificate of authenticity and a bespoke motorcycle cover. Scheduled for release in October 2024, this model underscores Ducati’s commitment to innovation and performance, encapsulating the essence of the Superquadro legacy in a collector’s masterpiece.
