Art of Speed 2024 Returns to MAEPS, Serdang at the end of July.
Malaysia’s premier custom and counter-culture event, Art of Speed (AOS), is set to make a thunderous return to the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park, Serdang (MAEPS) on July 27-28, 2024. This year’s event, themed “Stop The Violence,” promises to be bigger and better than ever, showcasing an impressive array of custom vehicles, international guests, and exciting activities for enthusiasts and families alike.
Spanning an enormous 452,084 square feet indoors and an 8.6-acre outdoor area, AOS 2024 will feature a star-studded lineup of over 35 international guests from the custom culture community. Notable attendees include Shige Suganuma and team from MOONEYES Japan, professional drifter Daigo Saito, and custom motorcycle builders such as Katie’s Customs, STOOP Motorcycles, and EVILACT from Japan.
One of the main highlights for 2024 is the SoundCircus Takeover, which will transform Hall A into an indoor music festival. Featuring popular acts like Spider, Gerhana Ska Cinta, and Jemson X Forcesparkbois, the SoundCircus promises to keep the energy high throughout the weekend.
In a significant move, AOS 2024 is collaborating with Selangor FC to support their ongoing “Stop The Violence” campaign, bridging the gap between football and automotive lifestyle. This partnership underscores the event’s commitment to promoting positive messages within the community.
Motorcycle enthusiasts will be thrilled with the new Community Moto4sale, a dedicated space for buying, selling, and trading motorcycles under 500cc. The popular AOS Invitational Build-Off also returns, featuring 10 talented bike builders competing for cash prizes and a chance to showcase their creations at the prestigious Yokohama Hot Rod Custom Show 2024 in Japan.
Car lovers won’t be left out, with the NEAT Fest in Hall C displaying a curated selection of modified cars from across Malaysia, including local, Japanese, European, and supercar categories. The Show & Shine competition in Hall A will showcase the best custom cars and motorcycles, with the Best of Show winner earning a trip to the Yokohama Hot Rod Custom Show.
For collectors, the 2nd Official Hot Wheels Collectors Convention Malaysia will be a major draw. Activities include rare and collectible exhibitions, swap meets, and the launch of Malaysia’s first-ever convention-exclusive die-cast model from Mattel.
Fashion enthusiasts can look forward to the expanded Hail Vintage and Streetware Con in Hall D, featuring more vendors and the addition of the Backdoor Soundsystem Collective for entertainment. The La Cultura gathering will celebrate Chicano culture with fashion displays, dance performances, and DJ shows.
Outdoor activities haven’t been forgotten, with the ThunderCircus “Brotherhood Rally” providing a dedicated area for motorcycle riders and brand communities. The event will feature a mega ride-in, attracting riders from across Malaysia and the region.
New collaborations for 2024 include partnerships with Zippo, Von Dutch, Selangor FC, and the highly anticipated Art of Speed X MOONEYES collection. AOS is also teaming up with IGL coating to offer a limited edition mini detailing kit for car care enthusiasts.
In an exciting twist, this year’s lucky draw features a modified Honda as the grand prize, marking the first time a “modern” vehicle has been offered. This collaboration with QARTEL TV and Honda expert Qaqal Jeffry highlights AOS’s commitment to embracing both classic and contemporary automotive culture.
Asep Ahmad Iskandar, Festival Director of Art of Speed Malaysia, expressed his gratitude for the event’s 13-year run, emphasizing its core values of inclusivity, affordability, and brotherhood. “Art of Speed is for everyone; always has and always will be,” he stated, inviting enthusiasts to join in the celebration of art, lifestyle, culture, and motoring.
With weekend passes priced at an affordable RM35 (excluding processing fees) and free entry for children under 12 and OKU pass holders, Art of Speed 2024 is set to be an unmissable event for automotive enthusiasts and families alike. Whether you’re into custom bikes, hot rods, streetwear, or just looking for a fun weekend out, AOS 2024 promises something for everyone. Mark your calendars for July 27-28 and get ready to experience the best of Malaysia’s kustom and counter-culture scene at MAEPS Serdang.
