Isuzu MU-X Adds Sporty Range Topping RS Variant To Its Lineup, Malaysia To Get It?

Will Isuzu expand its product range in Malaysia with this sole RS MU-X variant?

A sporty RS variant now sits atop the new MU-X (SUV) line-up⁣ in its product catalogue. Well, here in Malaysia we can only buy the D-Max pickup truck here in Malaysia since it is the only product from the Japanese brand that is being sold here at the moment, so if Isuzu is indeed planning to expand its lineup, will the sole RS variant of the SUV here first?

Isuzu has unveiled the updated Isuzu MU-X, setting its sights on competitors like the Toyota Fortuner and Ford Everest with a bold redesign and enhanced technology for 2025.⁣ Naturally, Isuzu should have the price advantage since we know that the Toyota Hilux and Ford Ranger both cost more than the D-Max so this should also be the case with the MU-X.

Moreover, the facelift introduces a more assertive front-end design, featuring redesigned headlights, a more prominent grille and a more rugged and robust bumper. Clearly since we Malaysians are not used to seeing the Isuzu MU-X as of late, these changes may not mean anything to us, but just like the latest D-Max, these changes are very substantial.

In the rear, new arrow-shaped tail-lights connected by a sleek black trim strip give the Isuzu MU-X a contemporary and sporty look. In Thailand, the RS variant stands out with its unique grille, black accents, and striking 20-inch alloys.⁣ ⁣ This looks very good with either a black or dark grey exterior colour as it complements the sportiness of the black rims.

On top of that, inside, the cabin has also undergone a significant upgrade, highlighted by a new 9-inch touchscreen with streamlined infotainment controls, including wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay for greater convenience. The RS model enhances the experience with red ambient lighting and premium trim elements for a more sporty vibe.⁣ ⁣

Powering the Isuzu MU-X are the same familiar options we see on the D-Max pickup truck, namely a 1.9-litre turbo diesel making 110kW of power and 350Nm of torque and a 3.0-litre turbo diesel making 140kW and 450Nm of torque. Both options are paired to a responsive six-speed automatic transmission.⁣ ⁣

So will this Isuzu SUV be coming to Malaysia? Well, for now, details regarding the release schedule in various markets, including Malaysia, are forthcoming, so sit tight.⁣
