The GT Asia Series has announced its 2013 race calendar. The Series will head to six of the best race circuits in Asia to complete a total of 11 Rounds between May to November. Three new circuits for the GT Asia Series will be added to the calendar this year, with Twin Ring Motegi and Okayama Circuit in Japan, as well as the Zhuhai International Circuit in China. Further changes include starting the Season in Japan instead of Malaysia to take advantage of the Spring / Summer weather. The Series will commence Rounds 1 & 2 at Motegi on the second weekend in May as part of the Japanese Formula 3 event. It will then remain there for two more race weekends, one in Okayama, also with Japanese Formula 3, at the end of June and then to Fuji in mid July as part of the Super Formula Event.
From there, the Series will make its way southward to Malaysia at the Sepang International Circuit in September before heading up North again and visiting China for the first time in a number of years, with Rounds 9 & 10 to be held at the Zhuhai Circuit. 2013 will be a big year for the Macau Grand Prix as they will be celebrating their 60th year at the notorious Guia International Circuit. Once again the GT Asia Series will be part of this great event with its Season Finale held as part of the Macau GT Cup.
Further changes to the regulations have also been made to ensure stricter compliance with the worldwide FIA GT3 regulations and to also make it more exciting for the spectators watching, be it at the circuit or from the comfort of home.
