Royal Enfield Launches The Shotgun 650 And Opens Pre-Bookings For The Himalayan

Royal Enfield, a global leader in mid-size motorcycles (250cc-750cc), has launched the Shotgun 650 in Malaysia. Priced at RM34,900, this bike embodies customization and personalization, drawing inspiration from the SG650 Concept. See all this and more from the brand at the Malaysia Autoshow 2024 at MAEPS, Serdang from 22 to 26 May 2024.

Available in Stencil White, Plasma Blue, Green Drill, and Sheet Metal Grey, the Shotgun 650 offers a retro-futuristic design and celebrates the custom culture ingrained in Royal Enfield’s DNA.

Moreover, built on Royal Enfield’s 650-Twin platform, the Shotgun 650 represents a new design direction for the brand. Mr. Rewi Hamid Bugo, Chairman of Didi Group, expressed excitement about introducing the Shotgun 650 to Malaysia, highlighting its combination of power, performance, and style tailored for leisure motorcycling enthusiasts.

He also announced the upcoming availability of the new Himalayan adventure tourer in July 2024, with pre-orders now open. Anuj Dua, Business Head for Asia Pacific markets at Royal Enfield, noted the Shotgun 650’s strong reception and the brand’s leading position in Malaysia’s mid-size segment. 

The Shotgun 650 also features modern amenities like an LED headlamp, a digi-analogue instrument cluster with Tripper navigation, and the new Royal Enfield Wingman in-app feature, which provides real-time updates on the motorcycle’s status. Additionally, a USB charging port ensures riders stay connected on the go.

On top of that, ergonomically designed for comfort and control, the Shotgun 650 boasts a low seat height, mid-set foot positions, and an intuitive handlebar. Its advanced suspension system includes 43mm Showa forks and adjustable rear shocks, ensuring a smooth ride across various terrains. 

The motorcycle’s 18-inch front and 17-inch rear tubeless tires, along with 320mm and 300mm disc brakes, provide stability and control. Enhancing its customization appeal, the Shotgun 650 offers 31 Genuine Motorcycle Accessories, such as bar end mirrors, solo seats, and billet rims. A complementary range of apparel has also been developed to reflect the bike’s spirit.

Royal Enfield also announced the pre-booking for the new Himalayan, set to premiere on 8 June 2024, at JioSpace Petaling Jaya. The new Himalayan adventure tourer builds on its predecessor’s capabilities, offering a perfect blend of usability and confidence for adventure riding.
