Peugeot is the first European manufacturer to make such a commitment.
Peugeot has made a bold move in the electric vehicle market by becoming the first European automaker to offer an extensive 8-year/160,000km warranty on all their electric passenger cars. This game-changing “ALLURE CARE” program provides comprehensive coverage for the electric motor, charger, transmission, high-voltage battery, and other critical EV components.
The extended warranty is now available across Peugeot’s entire electric range in major European markets like Germany, Spain, Italy, and the Netherlands. It covers popular models such as the e-208, e-2008, e-308, e-3008, and the recently launched e-5008, with the upcoming e-408 also set to benefit.
By offering this unparalleled warranty, Peugeot aims to give customers complete peace of mind and encourage widespread adoption of electric mobility. The brand is confident in the quality, reliability, and durability of its EVs, positioning itself as a leader in Europe’s electric vehicle revolution.
The ALLURE CARE warranty complements the existing 8-year/160,000km coverage on EV batteries. It automatically renews after every service performed within the authorized service network every 2 years or 25,000km.
As Stellantis rapidly expands its presence in Malaysia with plans to launch electric Peugeot models soon, the question arises – will Malaysian EV buyers also enjoy the benefits of this groundbreaking warranty program?
With its strong commitment to electric mobility and customer satisfaction, there are high hopes that Stellantis will extend the same level of confidence and coverage to Malaysian consumers. Such a move would provide a significant boost to EV adoption in the country and reinforce Peugeot’s position in Malaysia. So far, only the Chinese brands and Tesla have been able to deliver price-competitive EVs while the rest (including the Korean brands) opt to attack the premium end of the market.
Malaysians eagerly await updates from Peugeot on whether the ALLURE CARE program will be introduced locally, potentially setting a new benchmark for EV warranties in the region. It will also be interesting to see if electric Peugeot models will hit Malaysian roads before Leapmotor EVs come here. After all, Stellantis has already promised Leapmotor will enter our market by Q4 2024.
