The Genesis GV80 has a new look and a new body style, will they both come to Malaysia?
The redesigned Genesis GV80 enhances both the driving and passenger experience with various upgrades to its exterior and interior features. It also comes with a new coupe body style offering customers 2 options to choose from based on their own personal preference. Will we see these stylish luxury SUVs being sold here in Malaysia now that they debuted at Auto China 2024?
Starting from the front, the GV80 showcases a newly crafted Two-Line Crest Grille and signature Two-Line headlamps. The Crest Grille boasts smoother corner lines, adding elegance to the vehicle’s aesthetic, while the sleek Two-Line headlamps, utilising MLA (Micro Lens Array) technology, highlight Genesis’ dedication to cutting-edge design and technology.
Moreover, emphasising its robust SUV persona, the Genesis GV80 incorporates larger air intakes and a wide skid plate design on the front bumper. Additionally, an elegant Guilloché-patterned emblem adds a refined touch to its exterior. A continuous chrome trim seamlessly extends along the sides, imparting a commanding presence from front to rear.
The Genesis GV80 also offers two revamped wheel designs, contributing to its solid and sophisticated character. The 20-inch option features a multi-spoke look with intersecting spokes, while the 22-inch design reinterprets the Two-Line motif and adds an element of new style to the SUV that was absent before.
On top of that, at the rear, concealed muffler tips within the bumper enhance the Genesis GV80’s sophistication. The model also incorporates key elements of the brand’s design language, including V-shaped chrome trim inspired by the iconic Crest Grille, and a bold body-coloured line on the lower part of the bumper for added stability.
Inside, the Genesis GV80 embodies Genesis’ design philosophy of Beauty of White Space, incorporating new technologies to create a sophisticated ambiance. A wide 27-inch OLED display seamlessly integrates the multimedia screen, complemented by a touch-based HVAC system for intuitive control.
What’s more, the crystal-like Shift-by-Wire transmission ensures a comfortable grip, while quality materials and design enhancements add to the overall elegance. In response to consumer needs, Genesis has redesigned the wireless smartphone charging tray for improved convenience and visibility, enlarged the console cup holder, and introduced a knob-type volume/tune adjustment button.
As for performance, the Genesis GV80 offers two powertrain options: a gasoline 2.5L I-4 turbo engine delivering 30hp, and a 3.5L twin-turbo petrol engine with a maximum output of 375hp.
