Peugeot 508 SW HYBRID Refreshed For 2024 And Might Be Sold Here

Will Stellantis Malaysia introduce this 508 SW

The new large Peugeot family SUV for 2024 come with the company’s latest grille and badge, but both miss out on the new mild hybrid engines, we are talking about the 3008 and 5008 SUVs.

The revised D-segment compacts that will hit showrooms in June are easily distinguished from the models launched in 2018 by their narrower LED Matrix headlights (standard across the range) and three DRL claw marks below each light unit instead of the single fang seen on the current cars.

The lower grille has champed shape and now turns down rather than up at the ends, giving the car less of a smiley face, but the biggest change is reserved for the grille, which flows into the bumper below it and features Peugeot’s latest badge.

Already selling well in some markets, the 508 HYBRID and 508 SW HYBRID combine the 180hp 1.6L PureTech petrol engine with an 110hp electric motor on the front axle, for a total power output of 225hp.

The Li-ion battery of the 180, 225 and 360 plug-in hybrids have a capacity of 12.4kWh and an output of 102kW.

Two types of on-board chargers are available: a 3.7kW single-phase charger as standard and, as an option, a 7.4kW single-phase charger (standard on PEUGEOT SPORT ENGINEERED).

The estimated charging times are as follows:

  • From a 7.4kW Wall Box (32A) and with the 7.4kW single-phase on-board charger,
  • full charging can be completed in 1 hour 40 minutes.
  • From a reinforced socket (14A) and with the 3.7kW single-phase on-board charger,
  • full charging can be completed in 3h25.
  • From a standard socket (8A) and with the single-phase on-board charger (3.7kW),
  • full charging takes approximately 7.05 hours.

With Stellantis officially in Malaysia and handling all matters concerned with Peugeot, we look forward to the launch of this seductive looking 508 SW and sedan HYBRID.

In case you missed the news. Effective 1 March 2024, Stellantis Malaysia National Sales Company (Stellantis Malaysia) will commence a one-stop call center for Peugeot, DS and Citroën vehicles in the country.

This is part of the brand’s transition to being the entity managing the sales distribution and ownership experience of its vehicles, and to deliver seamless customer care during this transition.
