The MG4 has 4 unique variants and options to choose from as well
SAIC Motor Malaysia has officially unveiled the highly anticipated MG4 electric vehicle (EV) in Malaysia. These innovative all-electric vehicles are designed to offer customers a seamless blend of technology, affordability, and driving excellence. Both models are now available for booking.
The MG4 is set to revolutionize the Malaysian EV market with its all-electric hatchback design, providing customers with affordable zero-emission motoring without compromising on performance. The lineup consists of four variants, the Standard, Lux, Lux Extended Range, and the powerful XPOWER.
Moreover, estimated pricing for the MG4 Standard starts from RM104,000 while the Lux variant starts from RM129,000 and the Lux Extended range starts from RM 149,000. Finally the top spec XPOWER starts from RM159,000. These prices are very competitive, don’t you think?
The MG4 has been designed to maximise battery efficiency, with concerted efforts to further reduce weights and allow scalable range and performance for a wide variety of customer requirements, offering enhanced interior space and luggage capacity. This literally gives the car everything the average Malaysian needs.
Battery capacities are available from 51kWh to 77kWh options and the MG4 EV will be capable of between 350km to 520km range on the WLTP cycle. With a wheelbase of 2,705mm, length of 4,287 mm, a width of 1,836 mm and just 1,504 mm in height, the five-door hatchback is perfectly suited to its competitive environment.
On top of that, the low height of the car is made possible by its particularly flat battery. The MG4 uses the flattest battery developed to-date; with a height of just 110mm, it’s even the thinnest battery in its class. So does it seem like the BYD Blade battery is going to have some competition very soon?
The MG4 offers a comfortable and spacious cabin with enough space for a family of five, while maintaining sleek and sporty proportions. The luggage compartment capacity is between 363 and 1,177 litres by volume. This is essential in today’s day and age when many Malaysians choose cars with big boots for their versatility.
In addition, its balanced 50:50 weight distribution allows better handling, more direct steering movements and fast cornering. In combination with rear-wheel drive, the new MG4 ensures optimum driving pleasure.
Seven colours will be available namely the Volcano Orange, Holborn Blue, Dynamic Red, Arctic White, Camden Grey, Black Pearl, Monument Silver, and an exclusive matte option of Racing Green for the MG4 XPOWER. Additionally, the MG4 Lux and Extended Range are available with a two-tone black roof.
