All-New Mercedes-Benz C350e PHEV Launched In Malaysia

The new Mercedes-Benz C350e is now in Malaysia with an estimated price of RM355K.

CNY 2024 season is coming to an end and Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has launched their first vehicle of the year and it’s the C350e. Many will remember the previous C350e Plug-in Hybrid C-Class of the W205 generation.

This new W206 PHEV offers more than 3 times the all-electric range, making it much closer to an electric vehicle than ever before. As with the rest of the C-Class line-up, the new Mercedes-Benz C350e will be locally-assembled at Pekan, Pahang.

Mercedes-Benz C350e Powertrain

Under the hood of the C350e is a 2.0L turbocharged petrol engine rated for 204PS at 6,100rpm and 320Nm of torque between 2,000rpm and 4,000rpm. This 4-cylinder engine is mated to an electric motor with an output of 95kW and 440Nm of torque. This brings total system output to 313hp and 550Nm of torque at its peak. This gives it a top speed of 245km/h and a 0-100km/h time of just 6.1 seconds.

Thanks to a new 25.4kWh high-voltage lithium ion battery, the new C350e has a WLTP cycle range of 117km. The battery pack consists of 96 cells in a pouch configuration and it’s positioned under the boot floor, lowering the cargo capacity somewhat but it doesn’t have the stepped boot floor from the previous model. What’s more, it’s equipped with an 11kW AC charging port, which is rare for PHEVs. Malaysian customers will get a mode 2 charging cable. The charging port is on the rear quarter panel on the opposite side as the fuel filler. The 50kW DC Fast charger on the Thai-spec model is absent here.

Improved Looks

The Mercedes-Benz C350e comes in the AMG Line spec, so it gets a few exterior upgrades. These include:

  • the Mercedes-Benz pattern grille with star design in chrome
  • 18″ AMG 5-spoke light alloy wheels
  • AMG Line bumpers and bumper trim
  • the Night Package with high-gloss black trim
  • Digital Light
  • Panoramic Sliding Sunroof

Inside, the AMG Line interior has a lot of metal trim elements, a nappa leather sports steering wheel, and AMG floor mats.

Pricing has not yet been confirmed, but it’s anticipated to land around RM355,000.
