Mitsubishi Xforce SUV Now Being Exported From Indonesia

The Mitsubishi Xforce is now being made in Indonesia and exported to the world.

Back in August 2023, Mitsubishi Motors revealed the Xforce – an all-new entry for the brand positioned to rival the Honda HR-V. Within a few months, the company has put this model into production at their Krama Yudha factory in Indonesia and is now exporting it to Vietnam.

This momentous event, marked by a commemorative ceremony at the port of Tanjung Priok, witnessed the participation of key dignitaries, including officials from the Indonesian and Japanese governments, as well as Mitsubishi Motors’ stakeholders.

Vietnam was selected as the debut export market for the Xforce in the ASEAN region, signaling Mitsubishi Motors’ commitment to broadening its market presence. Following the initial launch in Vietnam, the compact SUV will be progressively introduced to other ASEAN countries such as the Philippines. The expansion will extend to South Asia, Latin America, the Middle East, and Africa, demonstrating the company’s strategic approach to tapping into diverse global markets

Takao Kato, President and Chief Executive Officer of Mitsubishi Motors, expressed pride in the commencement of exports from their production hub in Indonesia. He emphasized the company’s ambition to contribute significantly to the Indonesian economy and the growth of the local automobile industry through increased exports to various region.

This announcement follows Mitsubishi Motors’ recent production milestone in December of the Minicab EV in Indonesia, marking the introduction of a kei-car class electric commercial vehicle – a first for the company’s overseas affiliates. The move underlines Mitsubishi Motors’ dedication to adapting to evolving market demands by establishing a flexible production and supply system.

Mitsubishi Motors’ commitment to Indonesia as a production hub signifies positive prospects for the local automobile industry. The company’s focus on flexibility and responsiveness to emerging trends positions it as a key player in the region’s automotive landscape, fostering economic development and job creation.
