The Honda Civic Hybrid facelift model has been teased for the US market, here’s what it looks like.
Malaysians are just settling into the comfort of the Honda Civic RS e:HEV, but over in the United States, the anticipation is building for the revamped model. The spotlight is now on the facelifted Civic Hybrid, and it appears that the changes are more than just skin-deep – they’re giving the car a sportier edge.
One of the standout alterations is the larger grille and a more sculpted lower intake. However, the most significant visual transformation comes in the form of a switch to a hexagonal motif for both grilles. The current model features a mix of horizontal and vertical lines on the top grille, complemented by horizontal lines on the lower grille with a subtle touch of hexagons.
It’s important to note that these aesthetic updates are specifically introduced in the Sport Touring Hybrid model, exclusively available in the US. While Malaysians are acquainted with the Civic Hybrid marketed as the e:HEV RS, the American variant boasts unique features, including distinctive 6-spoke wheels.
Beyond the visual enhancements, the US facelift promises additional features that might extend to the global model. An interesting point to highlight is the availability of the Hybrid model in both sedan and hatchback configurations in the US market.
In a market where Honda’s CR-V holds the title of the most popular hybrid vehicle, hybrids contribute to nearly half of all Honda sales in the US. While Malaysia hasn’t reached those impressive numbers yet, the upgraded Civic Hybrid signals a step towards a more dynamic and eco-friendly automotive landscape. Keep an eye out for the imminent arrival of this sportier, tech-savvy hybrid on the streets of America – and perhaps, soon in other parts of the world.
