smart confirms that Cycle & Carriage will be the distributor of their EVs in Singapore.
While Pro-NET has the job of distributing smart vehicles in Malaysia and Thailand (choosing Hap Seng as their first dealer partner in Malaysia), Cycle & Carriage will be in charge in Singapore. The company announced that it would be introducing the smart #1 to the Singapore market by the first half of this year.
As a prominent automotive distributor group in Southeast Asia and the exclusive dealer of Mercedes-Benz in Singapore, Cycle & Carriage stands out as one of the country’s most diverse automotive groups, boasting a century-long legacy. Operating in Singapore with established sales and aftersales channels and a highly experienced operations team, the group offers a strategic advantage. By selecting Cycle & Carriage, smart aims to swiftly integrate into the local market and establish a brand advantage in Singapore.
Mr. Tong Xiangbei, Global CEO of smart Automobile, expressed his enthusiasm about expanding smart’s business network in Singapore and forming a partnership with Cycle & Carriage. Recognizing Cycle & Carriage’s extensive business network and abundant industry experience in the local market, Mr. Tong highlighted the company as an ideal partner to drive the region into the all-electric era alongside smart.
In recent years, the Singapore government has introduced incentive plans, including tax reductions and subsidies, to bolster support and adoption of new energy vehicles. Cycle & Carriage’s expertise in the electric mobility ecosystem, encompassing electric vehicle sales and aftersales, e-logistics, and green mobility solutions, provides a robust foundation for smart’s business expansion in Singapore.
“We are enthused about smart’s product offerings, perfectly aligning with the growing demand for EVs in Singapore. Led by the smart R&D team and supported by the Mercedes-Benz global design team, new product development reflects smart’s strength in product design, development, and operations. We are confident in smart’s success in Singapore and warmly welcome them into the C&C family,” said Wilfrid Foo, Managing Director of Cycle & Carriage Singapore.
Remaining committed to its forward-looking “China-Europe Dual-Home” global development strategy, smart adheres to its original vision of “exploring the best solutions for future urban mobility.” With global operations supporting sustainable local growth, smart is accelerating into Singapore’s dynamic market with Cycle & Carriage, driving innovation and sustainability to design a smarter future together.
