The all-new Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG made its official debut today! This new A45 uses an AMG 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo engine delivering an impressive 360bhp and up to 450 Newton metres of torque. This makes it the most powerful series production four-cylinder engine in the world.
Still, Mercedes-Benz says that the engine needs only 6.9 litres of fuel per 100 kilometres in NEDC combined mode. The engine is mated to a seven-speed AMG SpeedShift DCT transmission and is able to hit 100 km/h in just 4.6 seconds and has a top speed of 250 km/h. The 7-speed transmission offers three driving modes, a double-declutching function and Race Start for optimum acceleration. The new A 45 AMG comes with variable, performance-oriented AMG 4MATIC all-wheel drive as standard. In developing this all-wheel drive, the focus firmly was on performance and dynamism. When the driving dynamics so require, the variable AMG 4MATIC all-wheel drive splits the torque between front and rear axle up to a ratio of 50 : 50 percent.
Visual enhancements for the A45 AMG car comes with a new body kit consisting of a new front bumper, new side sills, a rear bumper with integrated exhaust system and air diffuser and a new rear roof spoiler. Same theme is continued at the interior where we find new sport bucket seats, a sporty steering wheel and a new gear knob.
