Lotus launches liquid-cooled EV Charging solution but will it arrive in Malaysia?
Lotus Cars has shown a state-of-the-art electric vehicle charging solution – it’s a 450kW DC fast charging station that’s liquid cooled AND modular. Given that the company used to have some links to Malaysia, we wonder if they’ll present this new 450kW charging station at their Pavillion KL headquarters or Bukit Jelutong showroom/service centre.

Expanding Global Reach
Lotus has already deployed its fast-charging solutions in China, with plans to roll out across Europe and the Middle East in Q2 2024. Further market availability details will be announced soon, marking a significant step towards global EV infrastructure development.
Futureproofing Charging Solutions
Recognizing the evolving nature of charging infrastructure, Lotus has futureproofed its offerings. The 450 kW solution is poised to be the next step in fast charging when infrastructure catches up. Importantly, Lotus customers can seamlessly upgrade to this power output without incurring additional hardware costs when in-market service providers roll out grid upgrades.
Lotus’ Commitment to Electrification
Mike Johnstone, Chief Commercial Officer at Lotus Group, emphasizes the brand’s commitment to electrification, citing six years of investment in technology and infrastructure. The unveiling of these cutting-edge charging solutions aligns with Lotus’ Vision80 strategy to transition from a British sports car maker to an all-electric global luxury technology brand by 2028.
