Land Rover Malaysia is the official vehicle sponsor for the upcoming MCKK Premier 7’s Rugby tournament in Kuala Kangsar. A handover ceremony was held at the Land Rover flagship showroom in Petaling Jaya to present the 5 vehicles to the organizers. The vehicles will be used as the official transport during the 3-day tournament that kicks off on 22nd February.
The MCKK Rugby Premier 7’s is organized by the Malay College, Kuala Kangsar (MCKK) and the Malay College Old Boy’s Association (MCOBA) from 22nd February to the 24th February 2013 and it will be held at the MCKK Rugby field. The 3rd edition of the MCKK Premier 7’s is expected to draw a daily crowd of about 3,000 members of the public. The tournament has gained much attraction with the addition of 3 foreign teams.
During the tournament, Land Rover will be organizing a ‘Charity Test Drive’ session where the public has the opportunity to drive a selection of Land Rover vehicles for charity. Land Rover also plans to showcase the Range Rover Evoque, the Range Rover 5.0 S/C and the Defender Double Cab at the event. The main attraction will be the Range Rover Evoque which is decorated with Maori motif livery. The special Range Rover Evoque was used to promote the Rugby World Cup 2011 (RWC 2011) which was held in New Zealand.
Land Rover Malaysia has been proudly involved in rugby sponsorship in Malaysia since the RWC 2011. The Rugby World Cup is the rugby showpiece tournament and one of the Top 3 Sporting Events in the world. It was also the biggest sporting event of 2011 and had a global audience of 4 billion people. Land Rover is also the official Automotive Sponsor of the RWC 2011.
