The Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV is now in Malaysia for the ultimate electric SUV experience.
Mercedes-Benz Malaysia today introduced its flagship electric vehicle, the EQS SUV. The brand with the three-pointed star has decided to bring in just one variant of the model – the Mercedes-Benz EQS 580 4MATIC SUV for RM699,888.

This flagship electric SUV comes with a twin motor setup for ‘4MATIC’ all-wheel drive propulsion. With a total output of 544hp and 858Nm of torque, this promises to be quite a powerhouse. 0-100km/h takes just 4.6 seconds and the top speed is capped at 210km/h. Not bad for a vehicle that weighs 2810kg.
The 108.4kWh lithium-ion battery pack is good 515 to 615km of range on a full charge, depending on road conditions. The EQS SUV features pretty impressive 22kW AC charging onboard, allowing a full charge from 0% in 5 and a half hours. With support for 200kW DC Fast charging, 0-80% state of charge takes just 31 minutes.
The EQS SUV is the first luxury all-electric SUV from Mercedes-Benz to be designed on the EV-dedicated EVA2 platform. It sports the Sensual Purity design language of the EQ family and offers 7-seater luxury in a modern, emissions-free package.
You get the familiar ‘Black Panel’ grille this time with a three-dimensional star pattern, “EQS” written on the A pillar, flush door handles, 22″ AMG multi-spoke light alloy wheels, a panoramic sunroof, light strips connecting both taillights at the rear and both headlights up front. The car is specified with the AMG Line exterior.
Being a flagship-level product, the equipment list is pretty extensive. Mercedes-Benz Malaysia was keen to highlight the Spatial Audio experience, which a first in the automotive world and done in collaboration with Apple Music. The EQS SUV comes with a Burmester® 3D surround sound system with support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Inside, the EQS SUV maximizes the use of its 3,210mm wheelbase by offering a third row of seats with with extensive comfort features for all passengers as standard. Thanks to the packaging of the vehicle, shoulder and elbow room for all rows of seats are above average.
With the rearmost row of seats folded away, you have between 645L – 880L of cargo space, depending on how reclined the second row of seats are.
Speaking of recline, the backrests in the second row can move back up to 290mm for easier access to the rear seats.
The MBUX Hyperscreen is the centrepiece of the EQS SUV interior. The entire instrument panel is presented as a single piece with a three-dimensional effect across the width of the vehicle with high-resolution screens (two 12.3″ and one 17.7″ display) seamlessly merging beneath the shared glass cover.
The EQS SUV is specified with the Electric Art interior with a Nappa leather upholstery in black/space grey, brown open-pore magnolia wood, Mercedes-Benz pattern in aluminium, and velour floor mats.
