Biker And Driver Exchange Harsh Words, Then The Driver Does This

This is the stuff that makes mothers scared to let their sons become a motorcyclist

Ah, Road rage. Just why, honestly? Obviously there will always be people who piss others off when on the road but this does not mean that we can take matters into our own hands and just go around injuring motorists on the road. So learn from what happened to this biker and driver and stay safe on the road.

Mr. Lim Ching Hong, a 26 year old lorry driver was driving in his car, like any normal day, when he and a biker seem to be exchanging a few harsh words with each other. What happens next is truly every motorcyclist’s worst nightmare and the reason many mothers are afraid to let their sons ride motorcycles.

Moreover, it appears that in a fit of road rage, that Mr. Lim had snapped and from the lane beside the motorcycle decided to switch lanes to the same one the motorcyclist was on and suddenly apply the brakes. This caused the motorcyclist to crash into the rear of his car and fall onto the road, injuring himself in the process.

This incident took place near Jalan Syed Putra at around 9.19 a.m. on 20 August 2023 and the crime fell under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 which carries a maximum prison sentence of 5 years or a fine of up to RM15,000 and can even bar anyone found guilty from holding or applying for a driving license for 5 years.

While I do understand that some motorcyclists can be a tad impulsive and even slightly dangerous on the roads, this is no excuse to intentionally hurt them like this. I’d even say that this kind of reaction is excessive and completely unnecessary. I hope if our readers take anything away from this it’s to always stay calm while driving.

Thankfully, Mr. Lim has already been handled legally and was sentenced to two days imprisonment as well as a fine of RM6,000 by the Magistrate Court for his dangerous driving. This is honestly just a slap on the wrist as the prosecutor urged the court to give him the maximum sentence and I think he should have gotten it too.

On top of that, the court also ruled that should Mr. Lim fail to make the payment of RM6,000 under any circumstances, then he will be sentenced to imprisonment for 3 months and could even have his driving license suspended for five years. So is all this really worth a moment of anger on the road? You decide.
