Lamborghini EV Teased In The Dark, Looks Like A Lotus SUV

The first Lamborghini EV is also confirmed to feature a split headlight design

Not too long ago, we established that Italian style and performance icon, Lamborghini, would be going all electric in the near future and even speculated that its first electric vehicle (EV) would likely not be a crossover. Well this EV is set to debut soon and the brand teased it ahead of time, so let’s see what we know about it.

Lamborghini is promising an electrifying future and they’re providing another glimpse of their first EV, ahead of its debut on 18 August 2023 and this time, we get to see its silhouette from the front and from the side and we also get to take in the glory of its split headlight fully as it is lit in a dark room to truly highlight its design.

Moreover, this latest teaser reveals far more than before and suggests that this car will actually be a crossover like the Urus. That remains to be seen, but it wouldn’t be surprising as the Urus outsold the Aventador and Huracan combined last year as SUVs and crossovers overtook the popularity of the sedan over the last few years.

Besides suggesting the model is a crossover, the images also show the Lamborghini EV having slender split LED headlights residing on top that look somewhat similar with the BMW split headlights but much thinner. We can also see large tires and what appear to be angular accents and well defined lines around the tyres as well.

While many questions still remain, Lamborghini has partially revealed the profile earlier this week. It showed an Estoque-like design with a rakish windscreen that flowed into a long sloping roof. The model also has an expansive greenhouse, an adventurous beltline, and slender A-pillars. Add what we learned now and we have a looker.

On top of that, Lamborghini has been very hush-hush regarding the finer details of the new EV, but previously said we can expect “something new and truly thrilling.” The company has also confirmed the prototype will preview their long-awaited fourth model, which will enter production before the end of the decade.

When it arrives, it will be positioned “at the top of its segment” and have “remarkable performance.” What exactly does this mean? Well, nobody can say for sure yet but we can guarantee that when this new Lamborghini EV makes its official debut, it is sure to shake up the market in a big way and we can’t wait to see it when it does.
