Meet the world’s thinnest chronograph watch: The Piaget Altiplano Chronograph. In honour of the 25th Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie which will be from the January 19 to 23, 2015, Piaget is introducing a new ultra-thin hand-wound chronograph to its iconic Altiplano collection, which sets not one, but two world records in the thinness department. Since 1957, Piaget (the Maison was founded in 1874) has put great emphasis on delivering luxury and timeless elegance in an ultra-thin package.
Following in the footsteps of the World’s Thinnest Watch, the Piaget Altiplano 900P, which was unveiled at SIHH 2014, the Piaget Altiplano Chronograph is sure to impress collectors worldwide, boasting a 4.65 mm movement and 8.24 mm case.
Not surprisingly, two years of development were required to craft the Altiplano Chronograph’s 4.65 mm hand-wound flyback chronograph movement and 8.24 mm receptacle, which set the second record for thinness.
You can admire said movement, which was dreamed up and perfected in La Côte-aux-Fées, the birthplace Piaget, through the watch’s impressive transparent case-back every time you slip on your new favorite timepiece.
The Piaget Altiplano Chronograph’s finishing touch comes in the form of an elegant alligator leather strap and you can take your pick between pink gold or white gold set with 56 brilliant-cut diamonds (approximately 1.8 carats).
