The latest Mazda2 facelift comes with an optional distinct new grille.
Mazda’s B-segment entry, the Mazda2, has been around for nearly a decade in its third generation and the company has shown no sign of taking it off the market. Earlier this year, they teased a 2nd facelift to the third gen model and now we get more details of the UK-spec. Overall, the new 2 gets updated bumpers, dash panels and 2 new colours (Aero Grey and Air Stream Blue) along with other minor changes. The new ‘signature Mazda wing’ cuts into the leading edge of the headlight rather than passing underneath it. The new design also incorporates a colour accept tab on the front grille and rear bumper.
Four trim grades will be offered for the 2024 Mazda2 in the UK – Centre-Line, Homura, Exclusive-Line and Homura Aka. The Centre-Line and Exclusive-Line models come with a new closed-off grille shape. This new look focuses on a more casual and fun-loving customer image. All models come with a 1.5L 4-cylinder petrol motor in various outputs with some variants featuring a mild-hybrid system for better emissions. The Centre-Line and Exclusive-Line models come with a 75PS or 90PS (mild hybrid) motor with a 6-speed manual.
For those looking for a sportier hatch, the Homura and Homura Aka grades come with more aggressive styling and more powerful engine options too. These versions get the 90PS versions of either the petrol (auto) or mild hybrid powertrain (manual) as well as a 115PS version of the mild hybrid too at the top end.
