More than 100 dealers throughout Malaysia recently participated in the Toyo Tires “Drive & Ride Experience” held at the Sepang International Circuit recently. The event was organised to provide dealers with an opportunity to drive and test various vehicles equipped with Toyo tyres mainly the Nano Energy 3 (Slalom & Braking), DRB (Wet/Dry Stagger Gates) and Open Country U/T (Ride and Handling Challenge). The event enabled them to experience the ‘real’ feel of the tyres and in doing so, draw their own conclusions for each of the tyres specific individual benefits.
Toyo Nano Energy 3 eco friendly tyres were fitted on Toyota Camry, Toyota Prius and Honda Accord test cars. Toyo DRB entry level high performance tyres were fitted on Toyota Vios, Toyota Altis, Honda Civic and Mazda 3 Skyactive test cars, while Toyo Open Country U/T tyres were fitted on Mazda CX5 and Honda CRV luxury SUVs and Ford Ranger Pickup truck.
The dealers were then driven around in ‘Hotlaps’ on the Sepang International Circuit by an experienced team of drivers led by ex-Toyota works driver Mr Kiyoshi Misaki in Toyo Proxes T1 Sport and Toyo Proxes R1R shod Toyota GT86 cars, thus providing them with thrills and excitement and instilling in them greater confidence in the Toyo Tires range of high performance tyres.
At an earlier session, a video presentation featuring the Toyo Nano Energy 3, Toyo DRB and the Toyo Open Country U/T tyres was held. This was followed by a joint presentation by Mr Tamotsu Mizutani, Manager, Replacement Tire Development, Tire R&D Division and Mr Kiyoshi Misaki on the ‘Importance of Good Tyres and Vehicle Combination” after which, the duo held a Q&A session with the audience.
Commenting on the event, Mr Kanji Kasai, managing director, Toyo Tyre Malaysia remarked that “The positive feedback received from dealers were unprecedented. The dealers were very impressed with the high quality and outstanding performance of the Nano Energy 3, DRB and the Open Country U/T tyres, which were manufactured at its plant in Taiping.” He also said, “I am confident and optimistic that Malaysian-made Toyo tyres will make greater headway into the Malaysian motoring scene and in doing so, achieve monumental growth and ultimately gain market share.”
