Facelifted Porsche Cayenne Gen 3 Interior Shown

The Porsche Cayenne facelift interior is shown and there are big changes.

The 3rd generation Porsche Cayenne is getting a thorough update on the 18th of April. Porsche has been teasing details leading up to the full reveal and today we have a look at the new interior.

For 2023 the new Cayenne’s interior is getting its biggest upgrade ever. The SUV will introduce the “Porsche Driver Experience”, which consists of digital displays with a focus on the driver. There are still some physical buttons left over for the air conditioning system and a new control lever for the driver assistance systems which is mounted directly on the steering wheel. The most important and frequently accessed controls are grouped around the steering wheel for a more engaging driving experience.

The curved, free-standing 12.6″ digital instrument cluster can be customised with seven views and to set to focus on the rev counter, navigation system, Night Vision Assist, 3D driving assistance in the foreground. A more simplified view or a classic mode can also be selected for those who prefer the classic five-circle look of Porsche instrument clusters.

The infotainment system with Porsche Communication Management is run off a 12.3″ display. It features online navigation and multimedia functions as standard. An optional 10.9″ passenger display is a new addition on the Cayenne. This sits directly in front of the dash and gives the front passenger access to selected features. A screen filter prevents this display from being seen from the driver’s perspective allow streaming services to be used.

The interior also gets the latest-generation steering wheel which is also found on the 911. The wheel features a driving mode switch to toggle between Normal, Offroad, Sport and Sport Plus modes as standard. There’s also a steering-mounted button for selecting functions and designs in the instrument cluster and heads up display.

The gear selector has been relocated to the right of the steering wheel, while the push-to-start button is on the left of the steering wheel.

Moving the little gear selector nub to the dashboard also freed up space for a larger air conditioning controller. This new air conditioning control panel features a glass surface in a black panel design with clearly laid out touch controls with haptic feedback and mechanical switches along with a physical volume controller.

Also new to the Cayenne is redesigned air vents that are vertically aligned and for the first time designed without louvers.

Other changes include a cooled 15W wireless charger, extended integration of online services, and 4 new USB-C ports with fast charging.
