CJPT Takes First Steps Towards Improving The Lives Of People In Asia

CJPT is also accelerating carbon neutrality with a test drive in Thailand

Four companies in the Commercial Japan Partnership Technologies Corporation (CJPT), namely, Isuzu Motors Limited, Toyota Motor Corporation, Suzuki Motor Corporation, and Daihatsu Motor Co., Ltd., along with Hino Motors, Ltd., are taking the first step to improving the lives of everyone in Asia. Here is how.

CJPT with the cooperation of Toyota Motor Thailand Co., Ltd, are to hold a test drive event in Thailand which will also introduce commercial vehicles for various purposes such as, government officials, media, fleet companies, partner corporations and so on on the corporation’s journey to carbon neutrality.

Moreover, CJPT was established in April 2021 with the aim of accelerating the implementation and popularization of CASE technologies toward solving transportation challenges and achieving a Carbon-Neutral society. This test drive event is the latest in the brand’s list of activities to achieve this goal.

Following the collaboration with Charoen Pokphand Group (CP) announced in December last year, CJPT also aims to expand its partnerships in Asia, including in the area of energy supply (energy solutions), mobility solutions such as vehicle provision and logistics management and data solutions.

These days, especially, when many countries are pushing hard for carbon neutrality, many different powertrains have been developed including hybrid electric vehicles, battery electric vehicles (EVs), hydrogen powered vehicles and so on. All this is reflected differently in different countries as well.

This is why it is important for all automakers to provide the optimal mobility solution according to the regional environment and customer needs. CJPT sees this test drive event as part of its expanding activities with more partners to further accelerate it’s efforts to realize carbon neutrality in Thailand.

On top of that, CJPT President Hiroki Nakajima said, “With appreciation to the society, we would like to contribute to improving the quality of life of people in Asia with various low-fuel consumption and high-efficiency vehicles, including small (Kei) ICE vans, Hybrid Electric Vehicles, Battery Electric Vehicles, and Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles.”

“We would like to hear the sincere opinions of the stakeholders through experiencing each product, and consider the appropriate way to climb the mountain of tackling carbon neutrality together.” He added. What’s more, Yamaha, which is not a CJPT member, will also be exhibiting a vehicle at the test drive.

Some of the major models exhibited at the CJPT test drive event include the Toyota Sora, Hino FCEV Heavy Duty Truck, Isuzu and Toyota FCEV Light Duty Truck, Toyota Granace FCEV, Toyota Hilux Revo BEV Concept, Toyota LPG-HEV Taxi Concept, Suzuki EVERY Small Van, Daihatsu HIJET Small Van, Toyota e-Palette and Yamaha H2 Rov Buggy.
