GoEV By GoCar Malaysia Is Now Cheaper And More Accessible

Want to try an electric vehicle? GoEV by GoCar is now cheaper and more available than ever.

GoCar Malaysia has made its GoEV electric car sharing service even more accessible and affordable with the implementation of newly revised rates. The price reduction is part of GoCar’s ongoing efforts to expand the electric vehicle (EV) driving experience in Malaysia. With hourly rates reduced by nearly 30 percent and bookings for 30 days and above now costing almost 50 percent less, the GoEV electric car sharing service is now more attractive than ever before.

GoEV Share is now available for Round Trip bookings, with the hourly rate reduced to RM17.90 per hour (down from RM24.90 per hour). The daily rate has also been reduced to RM179, down from RM249 per day. For longer-term bookings of 30 days and above, the rates are even more attractive, with a rate of RM120 per day compared to the previous RM232 per day. To increase the availability of GoEV within the Klang Valley, two new zones have been added: IOI City Mall and 1 Mont Kiara.

The GoEV fleet mainly comprises fully-electric Nissan Leaf vehicles, which come with a 40 kWh battery that enables a maximum travel distance of 311 km on a single charge. With the Leaf’s electric 320 Nm motor, quick acceleration (0-100 km/h in 7.9 seconds) is possible, and the regenerative braking feature adds power back to the battery, enhancing the vehicle’s range. Additionally, the one-pedal, e-Pedal system enables drivers to boost the volume of regenerative braking, further increasing the range.

Each GoEV vehicle comes with a chargEV card, courtesy of GoCar, which allows for free AC charging. Fast DC chargers (CHAdeMO and CCS2), however, are chargeable based on chargEV’s rates. To address compatibility issues, GoCar provides a Type-2 to Type-1 EV adaptor, which can be found with the Leaf’s charging cable in the boot of each GoEV vehicle.

Following the integration with the JomCharge mobile platform, GoEV users can now view charger locations and availability on both the GoEV and JomCharge platforms directly via the GoCar mobile app. GoEV has been available since December 2021 in Malaysia.
