0Perodua Teases New Axia, January Sales Up 23% Year-On-Year
Perodua finally reveals the new Axia design and reports on its sales success for January 2023.
National automaker Perodua is on a roll, reporting a 23% sales boost in January 2023 compared to the previous year. In total, the company registered 21,449 units last month, up from the 17,444 units sold in January 2022. This increase in sales is a testament to the company’s relentless focus on ramping up production, with Perodua producing 24,590 units in January 2023, a 40.2% increase from the 17,538 units made the previous year.
According to Perodua President and CEO Dato’ Sri Zainal Abidin Ahmad, the company faced several obstacles in January 2022, including floods, a shortage of semiconductor chips and other parts, and manpower issues, which impacted both production and sales. However, despite these hurdles, Perodua’s improved sales and production figures show that the company’s efforts to overcome these challenges have paid off.
Dato’ Sri Zainal emphasized that Perodua remains committed to its goal of delivering high-quality vehicles to customers as quickly as possible, without compromising on safety. The company is targeting to register 314,000 units and produce 330,000 units in total for 2023. The CEO also shared that Perodua will soon be launching an all-new Perodua Axia model, which is poised to excite the market with its compelling value proposition.
According to Dato’ Sri Zainal, Perodua has successfully converted nearly all bookings of the current Axia model to the new one. The company’s sales advisors have contacted customers to inform them of the changes in the all-new Axia, and most have agreed to make the switch. With its focus on delivering outstanding orders, ramping up production, and launching new models, Perodua looks set to continue its growth trajectory in 2023.
Perodua’s impressive sales boost in January 2023 is a testament to the company’s unwavering focus on ramping up production and delivering high-quality vehicles to customers. With the all-new Perodua Axia set to hit the market soon, the brand is poised for continued growth and success in the coming year. The real question is whether Proton can do anything about the threat the Axia poses. Perhaps another update to the Saga is due.
