Panerai-PAM580-Luminor-1

This is the new Officine Panerai Luminor 1950 3 Days Chrono Flyback Automatic Ceramica PAM00580. This timepiece combines the P.9100 manufacture chronograph movement with the classic lines of the Luminor 1950 case, here in matt black ceramic.

The P.9100 movement is the first chronograph calibre with automatic winding completely developed and made in the Officine Panerai factory. Featuring column wheel and vertical clutch, the movement offers a power reserve of three days thanks to two spring barrels connected in series and wound by a bidirectional rotor.

Fitted with the flyback function for instantly zeroing the chronograph hands and restarting them without having to first stop and zero them, the P.9100 calibre beats at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz) and it is visible through the porthole in sapphire crystal of the black-coated titanium caseback.

The push-pieces which control the chronograph functions are positioned at 8 o’clock (flyback, reset) and 10 o’clock (start, stop) to leave intact the outline of the lever device protecting the crown which contributes to the 10 bar (equivalent to a depth of about 100 metres) water resistance of the timepiece.

The material of the case, 44 mm in diameter, is a synthetic ceramic based on zirconium oxide, which is up to five times harder than steel but lighter in weight. Exceptionally resistant to scratches and corrosion, the case has a matt finish, even and pleasant to the touch.

The black dial features the typical sandwich structure with luminous Arabic numerals and hour markers, small seconds at 9 o’clock, and central chronograph seconds and minutes hands.

The Panerai 1950 3 Days Chrono Flyback Automatic Ceramica (PAM00580) is supplied with a natural untreated leather strap and a second strap made of rubber. The buckle is in titanium with a black coating to match the appearance of the case. Try it on at your preferred luxury watch dealer.
