0Honda Prologue EV Styling Shared
The Honda Prologue design gets fleshed out before production begins.
It’s no secret that Honda are planning to launch an all-electric SUV model specifically for the North American market in 2024 called the Prologue. This model will utilise General Motors technology – specifically the American company’s Ultium batteries and a shared electric vehicle platform. This week, Honda is finally sharing some images of the upcoming Prologue along with one or two nuggets of equipment and dimension information.
The Honda Prologue is designed by a young team based in Los Angeles. The team was tasked with creating a modern and fresh SUV with clean and simple surfacing. The design direction was labelled ‘Neo-Rugged’. While many of the elements are all-new, you will find some familiar Honda cues inside and on the front fascia, which is said to resemble Honda’s other battery electric model, the Honda e.
Measurements were shared in inches, but are converted here into metric and compared against the HR-V and outgoing CR-V for context.
Measurements | Prologue | HR-V | CR-V |
Wheelbase | 3094 | 2610 | 2660 |
Length | 4877 | 4330 | 4584 |
Width | 1989 | 1790 | 1855 |
Height | 1643 | 1580 | 1657 |
As you can tell, the Prologue is a rather large SUV for Honda, outclassing not only the HR-V but even their CR-V by a wide margin.
Honda are also packaging this EV with a panoramic roof and 21″ wheels. What’s new for Honda is that they’re displaying their full brand name in a stylised typeface across the Prologue’s rear instead of using the company’s ‘H’ logo.
The final product name will align with the company’s ‘e’ series branding. The Prologue will debut an exclusive paint finish called North Shore Pearl with an exclusive charcoal and light grey interior.
Thanks to the Prologue’s enormous size, the interior will be quite generous for passengers and cargo.
A standard 11″ digital instrument cluster goes along with an 11.3″ infotainment display.
