2022 Yamaha YZF-R25 In Malaysia Brings ABS, LED Turn Signals And New Colours

Hong Leong Yamaha Motor updates the Yamaha YZF-R25 for the Malaysian market in 2022.

The 2022 model year Yamaha YZF-R25 249cc motorcycle has been introduced in the Malaysian market by official distributor Hong Leong Yamaha Motor. The YZF-R25 is the company’s lightweight super sport bike that takes inspiration from the company’s MotoGP bike. It has been around since at least 2014. The Yamaha YZF-R25 is still powered by the same liquid cooled inline 2-cylinder petrol motor with an output of 35hp and 22.6Nm of torque.

Standard features that have been carried forward include an LCD instrument panel, a 14.3-litre fuel tank, a dual piston front disc brake, an electric starter and electronic fuel injection.

There are differences in terms of pricing, equipment and colour options for 2022

Equipment Changes

The big new equipment change for 2022 is the inclusion of an anti-lock braking system (ABS) as standard. Another change for the better: LED turn signals. The outgoing model used conventional halogen bulbs.

Colour Changes

Buyers of the Yamaha YZF-R25 in 2022 also get new colour options this time around. The new colours that have been introduced are Orange Lynx and Racing Blue. Past colours were Cyan Metallic, Yamaha Blue, Matte Black, Metallic Blue, Matte Red.

Yamaha YZF-R25 Pricing For 2022

The 2022 model is on sale effective 22 September 2022 throughout the nation for a price tag of RM22,998 excluding registration fees and insurance coverage. Back in 2017, the price of the YZF-R25 was RM20,630.78.
