Ford in Malaysia today announced strong first quarter sales results showing that demand for popular models, including the all-new Ford Focus, the all-new Ford Ranger and Ford Fiesta, has driven retail sales up to over 2,600 units in the first quarter of this year. Ford’s strong sales momentum from 2012 continued into 2013. Thanks to high demand for popular models, including the all-new Ford Focus, all-new Ford Ranger and Ford Fiesta, retail sales rose to more than 2,600 units in the year’s first quarter, representing a 57 per cent year-over-year increase.
“We’re proud of our strong sales growth in Malaysia and we’re excited about what’s next,” said David Westerman, regional manager, Asia Pacific, Ford Export & Growth Operations. “Our vehicle line-up in this country represents the best of what Ford has to offer – a focus on stunning performance, impressive smart technology and head-turning style – and we expect Malaysian customers to continue to respond favourably.”
“We are fully committed to building our product line-up in Malaysia and bringing world-class One Ford products and services to the country for the long-term,” continued Westerman.
Starting with the launch of the all-new Ranger, all-new Focus and all-new Focus ST last year, Ford is on track to introducing to the Malaysian market a total of eight new or refreshed products by 2014. The all-new and refreshed models feature eight powertrains completely new to the Malaysian market, including EcoBoost technology and state-of-the-art diesel technology pioneered in Europe, featured in the second-quarter launch of the all-new Ford Kuga.
