Perodua has just made its first fleet delivery of 11 Axia units to Arinah Holdings (M) Sdn Bhd, a driving school company based in Terengganu during a small yet meaningful ceremony here. The delivery is part of a 22 Perodua Axia vehicle to be delivered to Arinah Holdings this year. Discussions are on-going to change Arinah Holdings current fleet to the Perodua Axia for next year.
“The delivery marks the first in such fleet sale delivery to an organisation and we are committed to deliver our vehicles per delivery plan – bearing any unforeseen circumstances,” Perodua President and Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Aminar Rashid Salleh said.
The Perodua Axia vehicles were delivered to Arinah Holdings’ Managing Director, En Mohd Nor Mohd Arifin by Perodua’s Chief Operating Officer, En Zahari Husin. Aminar said that Perodua has received overwhelming interest from companies such as driving schools to acquire the Perodua Axia Standard E variant for their operational use in addition to demand from private users. The Perodua Axia Standard E is the compact car company’s entry level variant priced at RM26,400 in West Malaysia. The Perodua Axia has received more than 33,000 bookings since 15th August and delivered nearly 7,000 units since it was launched on 15th September 2014. The Perodua Axia is Perodua’s 10th model and is the country’s most affordable vehicle. It is also the country’s first energy efficient vehicle which could potentially travel up to 21.6km/l.
Although compact, this new model is also spacious with a relatively huge boot size including a few Malaysian unique features.
