Ducati is said to upgrade their Multistrada with variable valve timing and the introduction of the new engine will be announced this week, ahead of the debut of the 2014 AIMExpo.
Some speculated that the Multistrada will be equipped with the Superquadro engine which now powers the 1199 Panigale, but this is only a rumor. For now, we in fact expect that the 2015 sport-tourer will be delivered with the upgraded version of the Testastretta 11° L-twin, with some extra power available thanks to the variable timing architecture. At the same time, the new Multistrada is expected to offer better fuel economy, and retain the riding modes and all the other neat high-tech features, such as electronic-adjustment suspensions, power modes, slipper clutch and more. More to come after EICMA.
