The results for the International Engine of the Year 2013 are here. The judges awarded this special award to the very popular Ford EcoBoost 1.0 liter three cylinder engine. Beside the overall award there were eleven more categories. For the Best Performance Engine, the winner was Ferrari’s 6.3 liter V12 engine. The same engine won as well as best power unit over 4.0 liters. The Green Engine of the Year 2013 was Fiat’s 0.8 liter two cylinder turbocharged CNG unit. One of the biggest losers this year was BMW who took a lot of awards last year but had a reduced win this year. The German car maker lost the 2.5 liter to 3.0 liter class to Porsche and the 3.0 liter to 4.0 liter class to McLaren.

Category 2 liter to 2.5 liter – Audi 2.5 liter turbo
Category 2.5 liter to 3 liter – Porsche 2.7 liter DI
Category 3 liter to 4 liter – McLaren 3.8 liter V8
Above 4 liter – Ferrari 6.3 liter V12
