Triumph says, go big or go home.

Tiger Sport 660

Unveiled on the global stage last October, the Tiger Sport 660 is the first motorcycle in its category to feature a triple-cylinder engine. Displacing 660 cc and complies with the stringent Euro 5 regulations, the engine makes a healthy 81 PS at 10,250 rpm and 64 Nm of torque at 6,250 rpm. A six-speed gearbox with optimised gear ratios is tasked to send the output to the rear wheel.

Chassis highlights include lightweight aluminium tapered handlebars, 41mm Showa upside-down cartridge forks at the front and a Showa monoshock with a dual rate spring, which can be configured for solo or pillion riding. It rides on 17-inch cast aluminium wheels wrapped in Michelin Road 5 tyres.

The Tiger Sport 660 comes standard with Rain and Road riding modes, switchable traction control, as well as a slip and assist clutch that can reduce rider fatigue. All these can be accessed via a TFT display, which can be integrated with the My Triumph connectivity system.

It is now open for booking, with prices starting from RM49,900.

Tiger 1200

The Tiger 1200 is essentially the Tiger Sport 660’s bigger, more powerful sibling. For the Malaysian market, it is offered in GT Pro and Rally Explorer versions. The former is perfect road-focused adventure ride but if all-terrain adventure is what you’re looking for, go for the latter.

Regardless of variants, the Tiger 1200 is powered by a new 1,160 cc triple engine that makes 150 PS at 9,000 rpm and 130 Nm at 7,000 rpm – that’s 9 PS more than the previous engine. Its unique T-plane triple crank with uneven firing order results in improved acceleration, enhanced responsiveness as well as more engaging mid-range to top-end response.

Since both have their own intended purposes, there’s a slight difference in the list of equipment. The GT Pro comes standard with 19-inch front and 18-inch rear cast aluminium wheels, and a 20-litre fuel tank, while the Rally Explorer gets 21-inch front and 18-inch rear cast aluminium wheels, with a bigger 30-litre fuel tank.

The Tiger 1200 GT Pro is priced at RM115,900 while the Rally Explorer ranges from RM130,900 to RM131,900, depending on the colour you choose.

Speed Triple 1200 RR

Easily the most exciting of the three, the Speed Triple 1200 RR is a modern take on a café racer that is set to turn heads with its stunning cockpit fairing, which houses the signature-RR single round headlight. Carbon fibre infill panels on the tank, fairing and cockpit, and carbon fibre side panels and mudguard add an extra level of detailing.

Powering the Speed Triple 1200 RR is a 1,160 cc triple engine and a six-speed gearbox which, according to Triumph, is compact and lightweight. The powertrain delivers 180 PS at 10,750 rpm and 125 Nm of torque at 9,000 rpm but what’s more important is that the torque curve is smooth and strong throughout the rev range.

The bike is built on a cast aluminium frame that offers enhanced rider ergonomics through new clip-on handlebars, tailored foot peg position and a seat height of 830 mm. This is matched with Öhlins Smart EC 2.0 electronically adjustable semi-active front and rear suspension that comes with model-specific tuning.

Electronics-wise, there’s cornering ABS and cornering traction control. There’s also front wheel lift detection system, with which the latter is connected to. Riders have five modes to choose from, namely Road, Rain, Sport, Rider, and Track mode. These can be selected and adjusted via the 5-inch TFT instrument panel.

The Speed Triple 1200 RR rolls in with a starting price of RM119,900.

Celebrating Triumph Motorcycle Malaysia’s 10th anniversary

To commemorate the special occasion, customers are being offered an early bird package which comprises selected optional accessories including Triumph’s Connectivity Module, dual comfort low seats, frame protector kits, fork protectors, hand guards, USB charger kit and tank pads for the Tiger Sport 660.

The Tiger 1200, on the other hand, comes with complimentary aluminium panniers, while the Speed Triple 1200 RR gets an inclusive two-year service package.
