UMW Toyota Motor marked another milestone in its successful history with the opening of its latest upgraded sales and its new after-sales service centre in Langkawi, Kedah. The opening ceremony was attended by Datuk Takashi Hibi, Deputy Chairman of UMW Toyota Motor and Datuk Ismet Suki, President of UMW Toyota Motor.
“UMW Toyota plans to invest close to RM 500 million for network expansion to meet the increasing demand of Toyota and Lexus vehicles in the country. This will be done through opening of new outlets, refurbishment and upgrading of existing Toyota facilities to provide better convenience and comfort”, said Datuk Ismet, President of UMW Toyota Motor.
Speaking at the ceremony, Datuk Ismet Suki, President of UMW Toyota Motor took the opportunity to congratulate all UMW Toyota Motor’s team members especially to the front-liners of the sales and after-sales who had been working diligently in exceeding customers’ expectation on the double achievement in being ranked number 1 by J.D. Power Asia Pacific 2014 Malaysia for Customer Service Index (CSI) and Sales Satisfaction Index (SSI).
Both sales and after-sales facility sits on a two acres land with a built-up area of more than 26,000 square feet and equipped with a spacious showroom that can display up to 3 cars, comfortable customer lounge with WiFi internet facilities and 12 service bays that can service up to 30 vehicles daily. It is operated by 8 well-trained staff in sales and 12 after sales staff under the leadership of Mr. Teh Kian Hui the Branch Manager and Mr. Mohd Hilmi Rahmat, Manager of Customer Service Operations.
“Langkawi sales outlet has been expanded as the after-sales service has now moved to this new facility. We have spent close to RM10 million to set-up these new facilities in order to deliver our brand promise and Toyota Quality Experience (TQE) to our customers. UMW Toyota Motor is constantly raising standards on dependability, reliability and customer satisfaction which is part of our commitment to quality’, said Datuk Ismet Suki, President of UMW Toyota Motor.
The after-sales facility also offers Lexus Service Support (LSS) as an added benefit to Lexus customers beginning early this month. The Lexus Service Support will provide convenience in carrying out basic service and minor repairs. Dedicated staff and facilities are specially catered to serve Lexus customers in Langkawi and ensure the Lexus quality service is maintained.
Year to date, Northern region has sold more than 11,000 units of Toyota vehicle which contributes about 17% of the UMW Toyota overall sale. In the after-sales area, currently Northern region also contributes around 17% total vehicle serviced (CPUS) for UMW Toyota.
Commenting on the growth of the sales and after sales area in the Northern region Datuk Ismet said, “We are committed to continuously deliver high quality products and provide excellent service in our effort to reaffirm our position as the top selling non-national brand in the country for more than two decades.”
“Over the years UMW Toyota Motor has established a network of 99 Toyota and Lexus sales and after sales outlets including dealers. We strongly believe that the automotive industry will continue to grow and we will continue to strengthen our operations to meet our sales target of more than 100,000 units in order to achieve market share of close to 15%. In the area of after sales, we will continue to attain more than 1.25 million CPUS,” Datuk Ismet Suki said in closing.
