Isuzu D-Max Crowned Best Value Pick-Up Of The Year For 2022

Isuzu is going to need a bigger trophy cabinet soon

It’s not yet 2022, but the Isuzu D-Max has already been named the ‘Best Value Pick-up of the Year 2022’ by UK’s renowned pick-up and off-road publication 4×4 Magazine. This latest accolade follows the ‘Pick-up of the Year’ award given out by the same publication last year.

Alan Kidd, Editor at 4×4 Magazine said, “The Isuzu D-Max won Pick-up of the Year last year after we first drove it, so we’ve not been at all surprised by the enormous demand Isuzu has encountered since sales began. And one of the reasons why people are queueing up to buy them is that Isuzu has priced them very smartly indeed.”

“Isuzu has come to market with a range of models which undercut their direct rivals – so for less money, you get one of the newest and best trucks on the market, with famous reliability, rock-solid residuals and a monster of a warranty. No wonder people are putting their faith in the Isuzu D-Max.”

Alan Able, Brand Director, Isuzu UK commented, “Collecting the award for Best Value Pick-up of the Year is a great way to end 2021. With the launch of the All-New Isuzu D-Max earlier in the spring and the expansion of the dealer network throughout the year, this has been a very exciting and rewarding time for Isuzu UK.”

In Malaysia, the third generation D-Max was launched back in April 2021 with an all-new Isuzu Dynamic Drive Platform and revised 1.9- and 3.0-litre four-cylinder turbodiesel engines. In total, there are seven variants of the D-Max, with prices ranging from RM88,599 for the base 1.9L Single Cab (MT) all the way to RM141,938 for the fully-equipped 3.0 Double Cab X-Terrain. The latter undercuts the Toyota Hilux 2.8 Rogue and Ford Ranger 2.0 WildTrak by about RM5,000 and RM10,000, respectively.

The D-Max proved to be popular among Malaysian pick-up truck buyers, amassing over 2,500 bookings within just three months of its launch. It also picked up the ‘Pickup Truck Of The Year’ title at our very own Vehicle of The Year (VOTY) 2021 Awards in October. Perhaps even more impressive is that in July last year, it managed to outsell the mighty Hilux in Thailand for the first time in 30 years.
